William Is Eating Like A Monkey

William has such a voracious appetite, I can't believe it. He ate an entire banana for breakfast both yesterday and today, and that is AFTER a full serving of breastmilk. He polishes off entire jars of baby food as fast as we can put it in his mouth. And he's gaining weight pretty well. I think he was 16 lbs 14 oz last week before we went to the reunion, and tonight I weighed him and he's 17 lbs 2 oz. He's not on track to double his weight by the time he's 6 months old (Sunday), but he'll be pretty close. Plus he's getting taller (longer, I guess, since he doesn't stand yet). He's over 27" long, I can't tell you exactly since it's been over a week since the last measurement, and I suspect he's grown a little. I checked his height/weight numbers tonight, and he's still right on his usual trajectory-- just under 90% percentile for height, but around the 50% percentile for weight.

I was out with a friend earlier this week who wanted to see more photos of messy William eating. But I explained he really isn't that messy anymore since I worked out the towel-bib system. He's totally fine eating when we go out to restaurants, too. At Cracker Barrel he can eat applesauce, mashed potatoes, and fried apple sauce for dessert. And when we were there for lunch recently, even though he ate 1.5 jars of baby food and then a full serving of breastmilk at 11am and wasn't due to eat again until 3pm, he ate a LOT of mashed potatoes at 1pm. And then ate a full meal at 3! I am sure I will be flabbergasted by his eating when he's a teenager if I'm so impressed with him at 6 months.
