Renaisssance Shoes

I'm experimenting to see what kind of traction Will can get with other kinds of fabric. I found some heavy textured upholstery fabric to use on the sole of these shoes. I also tried a new way to enclose the elastic band so it doesn't show in front and it doesn't rub on William's foot on the inside.

The Estonian shoes are pilling already, and while I think they'll last longer than the felt, they're not the magic bullet I thought they would be. These shoes are made from a remnant of short pile brown velvet. They don't stretch, so in the future if I don't use stretchy fabric I'll remember to make the shoes a little bigger than if I do use stretchy fabric. They fit him, but it's a little harder to get the shoes on his feet initially.
