Can It Fool a Two-Year-Old?

This isn't the best cake I've ever decorated, but it's the best I could come up after W went to bed at 8:30pm tonight.

I used quite a bit of red icing color (probably about a 1/2 tsp when the usual dose is just a dab from a toothpick), but the icing stayed persistently light. I didn't make enough red icing, either, and made the mistake of using the red to fill between the layers, so the back of the firetruck is actually white. But I just won't put that side toward W, I don't think the birthday boy will notice.

I had all kinds of great ideas to use different colors to make hoses, ladders, etc. but because of the late bedtime the cake wasn't done until somewhat after 9pm, so I couldn't start icing it until it cooled down by 10:30pm. And then I was tired, so I just did what I could.

W is an "expert" on firetrucks, since he watches the videos on YouTube, has many books with photos of different kinds of fire trucks (who knew there were so many varieties?), and has lots of toy trucks, too. Nevertheless, I am hopeful that he will recognize the cake as a firetruck and be pleased with it.
