Must Think of Something To Do

I got the sewing patterns I ordered the other day, but I don't think I want to start sewing any dresses until after b2 is born. I'll make them to whatever dimensions my body is postpartum, but I'm not sure I want to guess what those dimensions will be while I'm still pregnant.

I did get a pattern for a toddler romper, so maybe I could sew something for W. Or maybe finish knitting a little toy monkey I started who-knows-how-long-ago.

But I've got to do something other than sit around the house waiting to go into labor. The catch, of course, is that it can't be anything that involves too much of an expenditure of energy (like cooking something elaborate).

T had to go to the post office before it closed today, so he took W with him. It's unusual for me to be at home alone, it's so quiet! Maybe I'll just take my nap early.

The midwives have explained several times that labor usually starts in the dark, either around bedtime or in the pre-dawn hours. But I'm hoping I'll defy the odds and just go into labor during the day and get it all done without missing out on any sleep. Surely some women go into labor in the middle of the day. Actually, I know a woman who went into labor in the afternoon (after eating a big lunch! she didn't expect to have such an appetite before giving birth). So it's totally possible.
