Baby Yoga-- Grasshoppers!

I decided to take W back to baby yoga. It's been nearly a year since he was last there, I stopped going sometime during my first trimester with M. But rather than going back to inchworms, I decided to try out the grasshopper class (ages 2 1/2 to 4).

W was perfectly fine out in the front room where we mill about before class and take our shoes off. He even ran back to the yoga studio eagerly. But once inside, he almost immediately started saying, "go out, go out." And he started to cry. I let him sit in my lap and he held it together, more or less. But after the welcome song he relaxed a tiny bit, and over the course of the class he was able to join in and do the activities.

It helps that there are props for the activities. Like egg-shaped rattles, bubbles, mats. He followed instructions better than he did last year, and also has noticeably more physical coordination. He was able to lay on his back and pop bubbles with his hands and feet at the same time. He also watched the teacher and emulated her poses (more or less).

I'll go over the poses we learned during the next week so he'll be more familiar with them when we go back. I figure this can be our Thursday morning activity for fall and winter.
