More Than One Mile

As promised, a photo of new workout setup:

I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up this morning and felt NO MUSCLE PAIN! I didn't even use ice or anything last night after first backpack walk. I just stretched. I was pretty sore last night, and I was expecting to have to work through it for a few days until my muscles adjusted.

But since they apparently don't need more than a few hours to get over it, I decided to up the distance a bit for today. I know, I know, I just posted yesterday that I wasn't going to overdo and just stick to a single mile this week. But if I'm not even sore the next day, then I don't think I'm all that in risk of overdoing it.

And it's not like I doubled the distance today or anything. I just went a little bit further than a mile. Maybe 1 1/8 mile, I don't know. But rather than turning around at the end of our street, I went a little ways down Jones Mill Rd. If I'm not sore tomorrow morning, then I'll go a little farther. And so on, until I reach four miles or I wake up and am still sore the next day, whichever comes first. But I'm hopeful if I am disciplined enough to thoroughly stretch out after each walk, then I won't be sore, ever.

Well, I mean that I won't ever be sore the next day. I'm definitely a bit sore the current day. But that's how you know you're getting stronger, right?
