Max Gets Into Crawl Position

Max has been scooting forward since Thanksgiving, but today he got up into full crawl position on his hands and knees. He didn't go anywhere, but I don't think it will be long now.

T installed the baby gate at the top of the stairs over the weekend. He had to build a wood frame to go around the banister so we'd have something flat to mount the hinges on. It was a little loose, so I put all those fabric scraps I knew I was saving for a good reason to use, and stuffed them into the box between the box sides and the baluster.

We didn't have a gate up when W was little, but now that I have TWO children, I'm not confident that I can always keep an eye on M. Now I just have to get in the habit of always keeping that gate closed when I'm upstairs with the boys. It won't work if it's not closed.

I have a gate for the bottom of the stairs also (we bought them back when they would have been useful for W, but T never bothered to install them). I guess I won't pester T to put that one up until M shows an interest in climbing the stairs. He can't manage it now. We probably have a few weeks, maybe another month.
