  Vacation Day

Terry and I had an appointment this morning, we left the house around 9:15 am. We were done around noon, although we were able to take a break and get a cup of coffee from 10:15 - 10:45 am. Terry didn't want to go home and drive all the way back into town later for Fridays After Five, so we just stayed out all day. It was both productive and relaxing.

Productive since we got a wire authorization form notarized, and got that and several other items in the mail. I also got another pair of Clark's flip-flops, this time in brown leather (since the ones I have in black are so comfortable). And I got 3-hole punched tabs with the months of the year. That's for my Martha Stewart project.

I've got about three years of Martha Stewart magazines, and when I feel like getting a recipe or doing a craft or something I take all three for the current month and flip through them. But I'm running out of room on my bookshelves, and my organizing woman pointed out that most pages in any magazine are ads, and if I just clip the pages with the articles I'm interested in, then it's likely I'll be able to compress three cases of magazines down to one 3-ring binder. I got the page protectors last week, so the month tabs were all I needed to get started since I already have an extra binder. I'll start the project tomorrow.

But back to today; Terry and I also tried the crepe place on Water Street, saw Wall-E, and heard two bands at Fridays After Five. We were home before 8pm so I played guitar hero then sat outside to watch the sunset from our front porch. I try to take a few minutes every day the sunset is pretty-- I wasn't expecting much today since it was a little overcast, but I kept peeking out the window between songs to monitor conditions, and finally towards the end of twilight the clouds turned a beautiful shade of orange, so I went outside then.

Terry practiced real guitar while I was playing video game guitar. I cooked the last of the steak in the fridge and served it with sauteed mushrooms and onions, then we both watched Family Guy.

It was a relaxing day. It was hot, but we spent most of the afternoon in the movie theater, and sat in the shade during the concert. It's so nice to be able to hang out with Terry without him getting impatient to get back to work, or constantly checking his emails, or being interrupted by phone calls.
