First Draft of My Second Book

I just finished the first draft of my second children's book. I wrote the first book, I Wish I Were A Hot Dog, about four years ago. It used to be online, but I think I had to take it down to make room for something else. If it's still up, I'll try to find a link for it. If it's not up, I may post it again if I put the second book online.

I've only just finished the story. I've been kicking around an idea for a few weeks now, but last night I woke up at 3:30am and couldn't fall back asleep very well, but a few verses came to me overnight. I wrote them down this morning, along with some more to flesh out the story. I'm going to make sure my story conforms to children's book publishing standards before I start to illustrate it.

I had no intention of publishing my first book, but it turned out pretty well, so I started to look into it. But I found that children's book generally have a certain number of pages, based on how the major printing presses are set up. And apparantly, it's much easier to get a book published if it's easy to print. So this time, I'm going to write the story to fit one of the standard numbers of pages, so at least I'll keep open the possibility of having it published if it turns out well.

I haven't decided on a title for this latest book yet.
